Ken Lincoln

When I met Ken Lincoln he was grumpy. He was upset about the food, or the noise, or his new roommate. The staff had warned me to expect this before Ken and I spent a few minutes together to talk and take pictures. I coordinated another visit to see Ken when Lucy, the love of his life, would also be there. Lucy and Ken shared a passion for music and played in a band together for many years, often playing a set at the Lamplighter three nights a week. I had the joy of watching Ken completely transform and awaken when playing a few of the old favorites with Lucy. The fog lifted and his eyes gleamed. It was a special moment and a powerful reminder to always keep trying to connect -- even when you think possibility is gone
