Carol Caley taught biology at Kingswood Oxford school outside Hartford Connecticut. She retired about eleven years ago and has been living at a full-time care facility for the last five years. When I spoke with her husband Dick, he fondly remembered that they were together 24/7 because he also taught science at Kingswood where they had adjoining offices. They were always together doing something they loved - teaching or raising their two children. Dick told me that Carol felt “If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing it right.” He expressed a profound gratitude that Carol passed on this precept to their children and to her students - teaching them all the value of hard work and seeing something through to the finish. Since 2014, Carol’s family has been actively engaged in searching for a cure and organize the “Jog Your Memory 5k” to raise funds to support the Cure Alzheimers Fund.
